myself or should get someone else to do it?
[/quote]

if you think you can do it.. then save some money and go for it
if you take it to a workshop they would quote you about 1.5k-2k just for labour + about $250 for efi fuel tank + extras
so if you reckon you could pull the old apart and have tools or can borrow tools.. you'll save a whole lot.. so whenever your stuck you can just ring a mobile techy to fix you up.

whether the current gearbox (which is sweet as still) will mate
and handle the load well enough?

when you get the engine it gerneraly comes with the gearbox on it..

how hard it is to make the wiring loom?

hard.. if you dont know what your doing.. you'll need the right books and diagrams.. its better to buy the loom right from the wreckers (if not given with the engine)

things you'll need
*engine looms
*chassis loom this will get you running

whether any probs going from carby engine to efi one?

not if you get it setup right
the fuel tank should be replaced to an efi one.. which would be an easier bet.. unless your comfortable doing with an aftermarket pump.. with the conversion i did.. the old carby tank went.. efi tank took its place.. checked the back seat found a plug allready for her Smiley =

don't really have alot of time on my hands so can't afford to have the car off the road for ages.

like i said workshops would generaly take between 3-6+weeks
if your comfortable with it.. and have all parts ready you should be able todo it over 2 weekends

hope this helps mate!
