Yes it would be worth doing the conversion, since it would make your not-fast Supra into a fast Supra. And that's all good.

No you can't use the existing electrics, gearbox or exhaust - it's all different.

Yes you should get a half cut, but don't get a Soarer, get a JZA70 Supra half cut as it will be a direct swap.

Forget about rebuilding a 1JZ, just buy one that isn't rooted. It would cost a small fortune to rebuild a 1JZ.
