you must have missed my post
according to what I've read, no fines will be sent by mail. all people will be pulled over. The cops do realise that unlicenced people will lend their car to licenced drivers. This does not constitute harrasment, but simply a 10 minute delay on your journey. And personally, for the benefit it will do, I can handle having 10 mins added to my journey
They will not know "virtually everything about you". nsw is planning on getting 11 of these systems (eventually - initially this number will be much smaller), and from detecting your car in 11 different locations across greater sydney (assuming none go to areas outside of sydney) they still wont be able to tell much of anything. I'm all one for my privacy, I hate giving out personal information and any invasion, but seriously the consequences, as the plans stand, are absolutely minimal.
interestingly, someone mentioned that one fo the resons so many people drive unlicenced is that they think it's too easy to lose your licence.... perhaps we may see a demerit point decrease? (well, actually no that aint gonna happen)
