Check the resistance of the pressure gauge with a multimeter. If it's infinite (no reading) then the gauge may need to be rewired. Also check that you have 12v in the wire to the sender when the ignition is on. Also check that there is no resistance between the body of the sender and the block - i.e. you're not using plumbing tape or similar around the thread of the sender to seal it. (this insulates the sender from the block and it needs to be earthed).
