If you use Kdog's diagrams on Lextreme, you will piss it in.
If you plan on keeping the auto, read that thread with Grant's explanation. I will let you know tomorrow if the 5MGE single pulse doover works as a short cut. I suspect it will still need a 4 pulse per revolution doover to get the right shift patterns. Also beware that the Kdog diagrams for the ECT are almost perfect except for what he calls SS, SS1 and SS2 speed sensors - they are in fact steering sensors and can be turfed. Using Cambelt's intact halfcut and a multimeter, we deduced that the purple/white wire sees 1 pulse per revolution, whilst the black/orange probably sees 4 (I'll be testing that next week).
I can also offer you some other stuff where I traced out (almost) all the wires in the loom which end up in the fuse box.
