yeh that's true, they're unbreakable but dont have any guts Sad a massive 60kw at the flywheel or something Laughing

Yep gave my old one away to one of the hatchi guys in sa and they ran it at full tilt with no coolant and only about a litre of oil if that, for about 6 minutes before it died. not a bad effort if you ask me!!

60kw?? oh yeh back in 1986 with no anciliories (i cant spell) and 105 octane jap fuel Razz

my mums suzuki swift 1.3litre carby job with a whopping 47kw at the fly goes harder than my corolla did with the 4ac, k the swift weighs about 100kgs less tho.

they are shit performance engines [4ac], conversion is fun and easy (relatively) just get all the shit you need, if your not sure search, if you cant find anything, your not looking hard enuff, but if you REALLY cant find anything PM me ill help you out as much as possible as i've done a 4age into a 4ac rolla like yours. If your budget is limited and your mechanicals skills are also limited the easier engine to put in and wire is the small port, the 20v and GZE are better engines but also more complex to install/wire. Dont let wiring put you down on a conversion its really not that hard if you get an engine with a complete loom, or can read a wiring diagram, check out the tech docs section on toymods.org.au front page its in articles i think. If it all fails and you cant do it just pay an auto elect to do it, they love it Evil or Very Mad

smallports are still lots of fun, power wise they're not far off a 20v bout 10kw (realistically, dont quote that toyota power figure, we all know its bollocks) GZE really is the shit when it comes to 4a motors, tons of torque so you'll scare the traffic light heros.

good luck with it all,

personally i would go the suspension route first, otherwise you;ll have a fast car that wont turn properlly = unsafe. I'd much rather have a slow car that shows up most cars in the twisties.
