ae86drift Forums Junkie I supported Toymods Location: sydney.au Registered: August 2002	Re: Trueno pricing Sun, 10 November 2002 05:31 its a "kouki" rear end thats why it looks odd to you the aussie spec sprinters have a trueno type I or type II rear end (or more commonly refered to as "Zenki" type = meaning "first" in japanese) the Zenki is the one with the red "sprinter" above the right side light. these were on cars released form 1983 to 1985 (and also in all of the 3 door sprinters releasd in AUS) the one you think has a funny bum is a "kouki" or type III rear end, slightly different but closer to the Levin type rear lights. these were released in cars from 1986 and 1987. one of the things that is odd to me about the car you posted is that it is a Trueno Kouki front end, but has Levin Zenki rear lights. maybe its had a bingle and the lights were easier to find? other differences between types of sprinters are that you will notice are the front indicators on a "Zenki" are mounted in the front bumper. the "Kouki" type cars have them on the front corners of the bumper in a two tone white and orange combo. also the area between the bumper and the grille part of the front end is black on a Zenki car, but on the Kouki it is white (like in the image of the one you have posted). there are subtle differneces in the interior also, but only quite small. the console design was close to identical within all model types of the AE86. hope that explains it.
