Without going in to fine detail...
Sealed is for tight bass.
Make it about 0.8 cubic Litres.
Ported is for low droney bass.
Make it double sealed volume.
As pointed out, its cheaper to get a prefabbed box, unless you want something to specifically fit somewhere.
