Hi, yeah don't get me wrong - the red one doesn't look like crap. It's just that I had seen the green one in the metal on a number of accoasions at shows and it had raised my expectations to what I concede is an unrealistic level If I even got a 1600GT/S etc I would never used it as a daily driver and increase its' exposure to various idiots and clowns on the road who would run up my rear or worse. You can't just go down to your local friendly Toyota dealer and buy some new panels and bumpers, so it would be a weekend car. But as you say, at least it is on the road and hopefully making people stop and stare and see what a REAL Toyota should look like, for a chamge. A Camry and Avalon free zone. Let's just say that when the time comes for me to try acquiring one I will use the apple from the branch analogy and get one from Japan where the most have survived (2,200 approx made) and where they would appreciate them. And I would get a RT76 (1st gen Mark 2) GSS as it's garage mate I had a quick look on trademe.co.nz - it seems that the cheap Jap imports have meant that not only does NZ have no car industry now but many older cars have been scrapped. Which is not good news for you for obvious reasons I have just picked up a JDM brochure for the RT80/90 Coronas, which features the hardtops One good thing I saw was the huge number (and low prices!) of the twin turbo Subaru Legacies (Liberties) that we in Oz never got. As far as the newer cars are concerned I am a huge Subaru fan, and I used to have a Liberty RS Turbo These things are more refined and more stealthy than the WRX, and it is a pain that it is very hard to acquire one in Oz unless you want one of the auto wagons that seem to make up 99% of all available vehicles. Unless the import laws change, I just can't go over there and pick one up and bring it back unless I live there for a year. Just have to wait till the local spec B4/GT manuals depreciate a lot more....! I just get more confused with all the BMC vehicles. The Minis were sold as Austin Morris Innocenti in various market all over the place-British Badge Engineering is a labyrinth [Report message to a moderator]
