Only the RA65 ('85) celica got the 22RE in Aus; the RA60 ('82/'83) got the 21R-C.
I believe some of the US xA2xs came with 20Rs. Some people in the US on the Old Celica Club mailing list at www.celicas.org have put that engine into cars like yours.
IIRC the mounts are different between 18R & 20/21/22R, but someone else will know.
