Sun, 23 January 2005 06:52 Well i used 100% genuine parts in the repair, so i'm unsure if the toyota HG is monotorque or not. It is similar in appearance to the non genuine HG i pulled out -ie: some sort of carbon based material around a metallic frame. That gasket had to be retorqued, but i'm not at all sure of the toyota one. PS: The oily residue has all but disappeared, to my great relief it seemed to be left over WD40 that got into the water jackets as over 100kms later there is little more than a small amount of oil floating on the surface, you can only tell by catching it on the right light angle. The car runs faultless now, i can definatley see why these cars created such as hype back in the late 80's, even now it would be competitive with most sedans less than half its age in most areas.
