Dunno if anyone said this or not...
But congrats on the offer, i still remember when i was excited that i got into my course (Chemical Engineering) about 4 years ago.
I haven't read up on Mech Eng (i hate physics), but it might be slightly different then to what you would expect (dunno). But take your time and make your decision, if its what you really want then no one will argue with you.
I dunno, but this thread seems like its starting to feel pretty hot (might start to burn too!!).
TAFE and Uni are both completely different, TAFE is more hands-on Uni is more theory based. Both have their Pros and Cons as to which you take...and to anyone that is saying that Uni is a waste of time or not as hyped up as it is they are kinda correct i suppose.
So does any of the people that do TAFE here with their qualifications see themselves moving up towards management in an international company or stuck with the trade that they were trained in? Yes/No??

My cousin (Starting to sound like some arabs, no offense) runs a multi-million dollar company, he employs people from all sorts of disciplines ( Economist, Engineers to mechanics)...he only finished high school!!
But if i were you, seriously go out and ask some people that have done that course or are still studying it, ask what its like and all that. It might be what you want or completely different.
I'm graduating this year, and if you want to know, No i'm not going to use my degree or planning to make a long term career out of it, i have other...err...plans (world domination??), did i regret my decision...No, why?? cause i've learnt alot of things that i can apply to what i'm planning to do.
Success stories don't help xolent much in this case, man all these success stories about people doing well without uni degrees, find the ones that are success stories with uni degrees and you'll be even more surprised at how much they earned and satisfied with their job (With some exceptions).
But as always, opportunities are something i believe no one has mentioned yet (sorry if i missed out)
Think carefully and make a decision.
