If you flog the knackers out of it, you generally can expect to use a bit of oil. The other thing is, if you like to try and flog it round corners, and don't have a later 4ag with the extra oil drain from the cams back to the sump, they have a habbit of building up oil in the cam covers and dumping it through the PCV into the intake - I got told off at calder last weekend for apparently making an 'unsightly' cloud of smoke every time I went for a right hander.
