Thu, 27 January 2005 12:35 from the factory without modification i think it would be wise to purchase an SA63 ra60 as we all know has the 21r-c not very desirable lo cap carby another con, solid axle rear end.... while it has it +++'s (could make a tough drifter!) is not as strong as the 6.5" and 7.5" in the sa63 and ra65 respectivley... the sa63 has the 2s-c also carby but a extremely reliable engine used in many platforms including the st141(corona!) with the sa63 u get the new style flip up lights which i believe as most people agree are more aesthetically pleasing, other perks big improvement over solid rear end with the irs featuring 6.5" s series diff and w 55 ra65 is easily the best buy if u ahve the money, comes the all the bits. i own both an sa63 and ra65 and the 2.4L 22r-e in the ra65 is a very enjoyable ride because the very early torque delivery! u end up with a baffled and electric pumped fuel tank (good for the oddd conversion!) and also in some models the top of the range W series gearbox (used in supras right up to '90) u have the irs rear end with f series diff which is considered one the strong diff's around under some of the g series diff. the 7.5" is an easy swap for an LSD item out of an ma61. if u have the money go ra65 because it is got the gear u will use in a conversion. same can be said for the sa63 because it has some of the required gear for a 3s-gte conversion. my opinion is the only thing i would buy an ra60 for the solid rear end for the use in a serious drift car. sorry for the long post...
