The wiring is actually quite easy once you've removed all the stuff you don't want (ABS, trac etc). There's only half a dozen wires you need to splice into the dash, and other stuff like power to the ECU, ignition relay, fuel pump relay etc, but the vast majority of the wiring is between the engine and the ECU which you don't need to touch. If you have the wiring diagrams for both cars it won't be a drama - it takes plenty of time and patience, but it's not rocket science. 
FWIW I put a 2JZ-GTE in an MA61 Supra (I've actually done it twice now) and obviously I didn't keep all the electronic extras... just the ECU itself and a few outputs for the dash is all that remains.
