..some facts, based on my *experience*.
2L mitsus (with balance shafts intact) are smoother than any toyota 4.
Easier to work on than any toyota 4.
Fits better in any left hand drive (mine is) chasis that any toyota 4.
First 2L swap I did in a te72 years ago, replaced a strong hopped up twin carb 3tc... even on stock boost, the 170 ft-lbs tq of the stazz motor would blow it away, even worse puny little 4ags. Excellent broad powerband, tiresmoke at will 
Now going mpi (similar to pix), then I have a 2.4L spare awaiting.

Have another ae86, dohc mitsu 2L power. Will go 2.4 eventually as I can find them cheap, but already silly power so no hurry.
I have an upcoming gts (ae86/4age) turbo project to play with while I do some things to the mitsus. Amazing little motors, but I still prefer the 2L.
