well i bought a new-but-not-so-new instrumental cluster.
i had 2 weeks to think about doing it myself, and then the day came. i went to the car, started opening screws, opening the knobs of the window washer and lights, opened the nuts. i said to myself that this was a pretty easy job.

then i pulled the shroud off, then the old cluster layed there. one ugly old cluster. yuk, i remembered it wobbled it's way up when it told me how fast i was going.

anyways, i pulled the rpm and speedo plugs off, took the screws out of each corner, pulled it out. snap. i ignored the noise.

then bob's your uncle, placed the new one in, put everything in tightly and turned they key on. the revs bounced, so i knew it was working. then i took off, i ripped first gear, and then changed to second, strangely enough, it didn't tell me how fast i was going. i was pissed. i felt like i got jipped. i started thinking about selling it on toymods for a rip off price and the sucker that buys it gets a speedo that doesn't count. but then i clicked out and pulled over again.

ripped everything out, this time it only took half as long to get everything out. i checked if the plug was in right, correct.
drove again.

on my billionth go on trying to figure out why it's not working, i see that plug that connects from the back of the speedo. the plug has something lying in it. it was a little twig. AH HA! i first thought that it was that that got in it's way. but i soon found out that from the snapping noise i heard earlier, i snapped it like a twig and now it can't reach the back of the cluster.

so i've been driving all night along the city with no speedo. it's frustrating not knowing how fast your going.

anyways, does anyone know where i can get a plug like that? (it's the one that's actually attached to the back of the cluster, no electrical wires or nothing, it's just a plug that's suppose to stick in right on the needle for it to move i guess). if so, are there any other models from the same era that i can actually get it from?

it sucks when you try to make your car slightly better and end up making it ten times worse.

thanx, all responses will be appreciated.
