Don't use a SAFC. They work by reducing the signal from the main load sensor, in your case most likely the AFM. When the engine is under load it requires less fuel which is the aim of the SAFC. The problem is that when the engine is under less load it will handle more ignition advance so this also happens when using an SAFC to lean out an engine.

This = detonation = dead number 3 piston. The 3S doesn't take kindly to this kind of treatment.
