blowby is gas that escapes past the pistons...
gas ALWAYS gets past, evemn if it's a small amount.. when pistons and rings wear, you get more blowby..
the PCV is there to extract the petrol fumes from the crank case, and if you get the oil hot enough for long enough on a long drive, you can keep the petrol content of your oil in control (or thats the theory)
