ive heard it mentioned on a u.s forum that there is a particular BMW rod that will work.
as far as going to 2l with a 7a, i have no idea... but whats the point? stroking an engine too far reduces the rod ratio, which cost you power, you might find 1800ccs and a few more revs will make more power than going for a big stretch.
i would say go as far as you can with the standard crank, maybe even ofset grind it a little to suit a differant OE conrod.
anyway, much more knowlegeable people have commented in this thread, just thought i'd mention the bmw rods..
