becuase the points are no longer switching large amounts of current, you'll find they stay correctly adjusted for much longer time - you'll probably not have to buy another set in the life of the motor. The only earing thing is now the finger that follows the cam on the rotor shaft - as long as it gets grease occaisionally it'll remain intact for ages.
