Yeah Headgasket is really the only major problem with them, If you can sort that out (just get them headbolts torqued down to 68ft-72ft pounds) You shouldn't have any issues, Perhaps the cooling system for the rear cylinders is abit wanting, but otherwise very reliable.
Now on another note, i just drove my boss's commodore station wagon piece of shite, And it occured to me, it goes as nearly as well as my supra! what the fuck is going on here! a crappy holden/GM v6 auto providing simular acceleration as my turbo supra! DAM! something must be up with my 7MGTE becuase this doesn't add up. I guess It could be that the holden V6 does have abit of low down torque, but no revability which means limited top end power, Couldn't really go too hard on the commodore bieng in the city area.
Hmmm makes me relize upgrading to the 2.5 litre 1jz might be a bad move, better keep saving for the 2JZ in that case. (advanced apology for my offtopicness)
