He's had a hard time getting a good 18RG, though - YES cause they're OLD. Yeah, the hard part is getting an 18RG in good condition. Were you going to use carbs or EFI? The carbs need to be on and 88250 manifold as they were shorter than the 88210 manifolds - This IS important as you can fit the carbs past the brake booster on the old hilux if you use anything else - I don't know for sure, but you may be OK with EFI gear?? As for the gearbox and Diff - They used them in the celica's when they put 18RG's in them cause they're tough. Did you think you need an engineers report for the 18RG conversion. According to people here in SA - you can probably get away with it because your hilux had and 18R in it to begin with. Well when you change the engine number it is STILL an 18 R - but just one with a better head on it!! Oh, just use your engine mounts off your 18R - they should bolt straight onto an 18RG Good luck. tilio_enduro [Report message to a moderator]
