It came from a dude near Wollongong who had it in his home garage. He used to build street machines (had some Summernats type trophies), but was moving to a smaller house and giving up the cars. I bought it through eBay, of all places! 99% of hoists are made 3 in phase, but this guy had swapped the motor to a 240volt (and he threw in the 3 old phase one as well). I'd been looking for a hoist for over a year; last year I committed myself to one from a local mechanic (same make, same price), but the guy sold it from under me while I was mucking about finding a suitable 240volt motor. Lucky for me in the end, as the motors are worth ~$600, so I saved that money. (Although I probably spent half that on Hilux fuel and trailer hire!!)
