Wed, 02 February 2005 03:26 I was told by people in the paint and panel industry that: *don't get large flat panels i.e. doors/roof/bonnet/guards etc sand blasted as it can lead to panel deformation, especially if the sand blasting is concentrated in one area for too long. *bead blasting can be used but has to be done carefully and by someone with experience or the above problems seen with sandblasting car occur *baking soda blasting is least likely to damage panels but next to no one does it. What about some good old fashioned elbow grease and wet 'n' dry paper? wouldn't take too long to take back a quarter panel to bare metal if it is just factory paint. Or use paint stripper (nasty stuff) on the main area of the panel and just use wet 'n' dry to do the edges, this would be the quickest and easiest method. Others may have some other ideas/methods...
