ok usually on late model cars no they are designed that if you disconnect relays or fuses etc the computer overrides and keeps the fans on permently and thats why when u removed it it turned on..try putting a new thermofan switch in or just disconnect the plug off the thermofan switch (usually located on the thermostat housing or close by) and then see if the fan comes on...if it does then u can leave it like that or just replace the switch.
