the 1G-GTE has like a 10 degree lean towards the passenger side.
If you line the gearbox up so the top of the bellhousing is flat (and the extension would be correctly centered in the trans cross member) the engine has an obvious lean.
one argument is that it promotes oil draiage from the head, another is that it helps clear bonnt struts
the passenger side of head has the tall oil filler thing so it makes sense to attempt to somehow lower it.
