fester Regular Location: Gympie Qld Registered: December 2004	Re: trumpets / ram tubes weber 45mm Mon, 07 February 2005 10:50 There used to be a place in Deshon St (not sure of spelling) Wooloongabba called Lynx or something and they sold everything Weber and carb in general. Make sure you get something with a radius like in teh picture and be careful about how your chokes are held in. Can't remember which is which but either the 40's or 45's had the chokes held in by the ram tubes slotting in around them so if you can't get those type of trumpets you need something to hold the chokes in firmly. Also you should use ram tubes even if you use full air filter assemblies like the K & N etc. This is to provide a smooth transition for the air entering the mouth of the carb. Air doesn't go around square corners very well. Don't the short socks have springs in them to stop them sucking in or is it the end surface that gets sucked in. [Report message to a moderator]
