Hi,
King_J: Yes, this is going into a 2J. Thanks for the offer mate. But I think I'll stick with the M800. The reason is even more than what M800 is offering right now, the future software potential. The M800 has a significant amount of auxillary I/O which could in future be used for additional functionality (say valve timing control) through enhanced software revisions. I don't know the Autronic SM2 well enough to know what kind of Auxillary I/O capabilities it has, but I know that it uses a 16-bit Intel Microcontroller running a 16MHz clock, which is pale in comparison to the Motorola 32-bit 33MHz microcontroller that is in the M800 (which is apparently utilizing only 50% of its peak potential). Besides, I know the Motorola 32-bit microcontrollers well enough to know that the controller has a built in TPU (Time Processing Unit) which offloads a lot of demanding functionality (say for example ignition timing and synchronization with the input sensors) to the TPU so that the microcontroller processing power is utilized even more efficiently.
Cheers
