Just on the topic of gauges, being an instrument/electrical fitter by trade, when I got my 30psi Autometer boost gauge, I had to check the calibration on it. I was amazed to find it reading 3 pound out at full scale. The error varied up and down scale, so repeatability was an issue.
I returned it and got another. Same again (not as bad this time).
This continued with a few other gauges, different makes too. I finally settled on a VDO number, accurate to .2 psi. Pretty good I thought, so yeah, as far as I can tell, VDO are the most accurate and don't look too shabby either!
Cheers
Gabe
