Thu, 10 February 2005 23:30 back in 2003 I contacted both Shell and BP tech dept's and got the following information: Shell first: Hi Mitch, Thank you for contacting TellShell Australia. Optimax has a Research Octane Rating (RON) of 98. The Motor Octane Rating (MON) is approximately 88. Should you have any further enquiries, we invite you to contact us again via TellShell or 1300 134 555 for general enquiries. For more technical issues and enquiries, please call 1300 134 205.
