Whatever you do don't put a return from the catch can to the sump.
I put one in recently without the return line & boy am I glad, I get alot of condensation in the can & it ends up being a 50/50 mix of oil & water, something you really don't want in your sump.
I've been using the catch can for about 6 months now, and I tip a small amount out of it every so often, but in the 6 months there would be a pretty small amount of oil actually coming out of it. If I had never emptied the can it'd be about 1/3 full by now, with alot of that being water.
