Here goes Smile
Ok, well you will need the following:

  • Top aircon mount from 18r-c (as shown in top photo)
  • 18r-g alternator bracket (you should have one of these shown in bottom pic)
  • a couple a big ol bolts n spannas
  • a drillpress or other means of slotting the alternator bracket!
  • good initiative, and patience!

Anyway, here goes
First thing, gather the required parts, as listed. You may find slight differences between the alternator bracket on the 18r-g and 18r-geu, not sure as i have an 18r-geu bracket.
In the photo i included showing the alternator bracket, the blue shows where u have to slot the hole in the bracket, i slotted mine about 30mm or around there, depending on the amount of belt adjustment you want. originally as you can see when you look at the bracket, it is only a hole, you need to make it a slot to allow adjustment.
This is the only real modification you will need to perform (or i did, if you have different extractors or exhaust manifolds it may vary. But that is in you hands.
The next few photos show the positioning of the aircon unit and hoses (which are also original off the 18r-c, just simply re-routed) You may choose to get custom hoses made, but i felt no need.
I have included pictures, which i beleive will be the easiest instruction in this minor mod.
After slotting the alternator backet to suit, everything is straight forward.
Basicly follow the pictures.
Where you cannot see my slotted bracket, i used a large bolt, with a 8mm spacer (commony on RA40 seatbelts) and placed it between the bracket and aircon compressor.

*****The belt you will require will be the bosch 13A1295

Took me a whole of 4 hours to set it up, including thinkin about it Razz
when the bloke came round and gassed it up, replaced the o-rings etc, he reckoned bloody good idea.
The only thing a few of you might question is the fact that the belt runs against the waterpump pulley but not in a groove (hence why i was chasing a 3 groove water pump pulley) which would be more suitable, but mechanics believe there is no problem with leavering off the warpump pulley, it lays no strain on it so its all good.
Any qesutions i would be happy to answer, but have fun, the summer is awesome in my car now chilly as Very Happy
anyways, take it easy.
Steve
