Wed, 16 February 2005 07:17 Hey Mookie, the 'converted 323' is done by using a Mazda turboBG front cut or engine package. The 323 and Ford Laser are almost identical. These are both pretty easy to do the motor conversion to as they are basically all the same car. BG motors and front cuts are pretty affordable too, at least compared to a lot of other ones (EG SR20DE- DET ) Oh yeh, and the cheapest possible zippy car is of course the 'feared' 3TC equipped T18. Buy a crow cam $300, a set of Extractors $250 and fit twin Webers or Mikunis $200- $400... Look out! Sideways action aplenty. You can surprise a lot of punters with this. Fit high compression pistons and rings and they go even better. Your average T18 goes for between $400 to $800 with well loved examples setting you back $1500 max.
