make shure the head has a smooth finish (slow feed) use ARP studs for everything as far as your wallet can strech,
get everything crack tested and fully balanced
if no MHG go for a toyota one, use acl for all other gaskets/barings (check sizes before fitting)
use the rings that your piston supplyer recomend.
gapless rings are gay, get a file back set and do the job properly
what are you building for, dyno queen - low comp hi boost or street - mid comp mid boost?
an engine is only as good as the prep work, be surgical clean take your time, trial fit (save that old compressed head gasket), use quality products (not allways the most expencive)
buy a die grinder clean up the ports and manifolds,
lube all baring surfaces with engine oil or moloubume stuff (little yellow tube with twist off top and green writing from memory)
get the head shop to helicoil your exhaust manifold studs.
block off the water heating lines for the throttle body, replace the turbo oil feed steel pipes with braided lines.
use that gold silicon stuff on your exhaust manifold gasket, spray can of hylomar on the head gasket, use soft seting gasket cement on all other gaskets.
pray to the engine gods
prime the oil system before starting engine
enjoy! a nice tightly built engine dosent enter its prime till about 5000/10,000 km in
