Alright, first things first... You can upload a picture directly into a post only in the For Sale sections. Any other section (eg: Tech Section, Outhouse, etc.) you will need to upload the image on an image hosting service such as Image Shack.
1. Adding a pic to a post in the For Sale sections.
After clicking "post reply" you will notice that below the area that you type your response in there is a couple of buttons.
Click the "browse" button and locate the image on your computer. When you have found the image click "upload file". (Note: If the image is larger than 100kb it will not be uploaded. There is a limit to the size of image in a post.)
Once the file has been uploaded you can chose to have the image automatically appear in the post so people don't have to download it to view. To do this, click on the "Insert image into message body" link. (see below)
You can add up to 3 images per post... So if you have more images to show you just need to make another post and you can upload 3 more.
2. Adding a pic to a post in a thread not in the For Sale sections.
To add a pic to a post in a section that isn't in a For Sale section. you will need to upload the image in a similar manner to above but it will need to be done on an image hosting service such as Image Shack.
Go to www.imageshack.us
You will see an empty field with a "browse" button next to it.
Click "browse" and find the image on your computer.
Once you've located the image click "host it".
When the image has been uploaded it will give you a series of links. Each link is for use in a different way.
Example:
Now that you've uploaded your image you will then need to add it to the post. You can either provide the link to the image (eg: http://img201.exs.cx/img201/7066/example1fe.jpg ) or you can make it appear in the post by using the link but adding [img] to one end and [/img ] to the other (but without the space).
Before you post your reply click preview to check that your links are working. If things don't work double check your links. Check that you put the image tags on both sides of the image link. Make sure that the image isn't exceding 100kb (if uploaded on Toymods) or 1024kb (if uploaded on Image Shack).
Note: You can use the Image Shack method in any post in any section.
Good luck... And if this is going to be made sticky, can someone please rewrite it and do a better job at explaining stuff. This is embarassingly convoluted.
