The rear disc hanbrake on AE82s and AE92s is not very good when facing downhill. If you can park the car facing uphill they seem to work a lot better. Go figger ? I'm guessing it's to do with the position of the caliper on the rotor and whether the car's weight is pushing up or down through the dic. Jack the back of your car up and put the handbrake on. If you can't turn the wheels at all then the brakes are probably as good as you'll get. If a wheel turns, as the others have ssaid - check that the cables are actuating the piston which will move in and out as you pull on and let off the handbrake. Also check that the surface of the discs are not glazed and maybe try a different (softer) brand of pads. [Report message to a moderator]
