Dont go replacing the thermostat yet!

This has happened to me twice, from what I can gather the engine gets an airlock if you just fill it up in the radiator and hence the thermostat wont work without hot water to trigger it. So what you need to do is remove the heater hose from the rear drives side of the engine and fill water into the engine through it. Both times my thermostat has been fine!!!!
