Rabid chimp seem not to want my business. Locally even, the price of the True Trac is good but I don't like the idea of a gear driven diff. From what I know of them they would always be transferreing torque around and never really lock up. All my cars have been Clutch type and I enjoy the predictabilty of them vs the Quaiff's and Torsens I've tried.
Had any one tried a Detroit Locker? Am I right that this type of diff would basically lock 100% under any load? IE for track use is would seem pretty dodgey. How about for drifting? autocross? Anyone have real experience?
The Power Brute would be a good option but Precision Gear doesn't have any until April. Apparenly not many production runs. It also seems very expensive in comparison...like 60% more then the tru trac.
