to be really sure, you can open up the speedos, and somewhere printed on them will be either rpm/mile, or rpm/km
the MPH opne in my KE15 has it, and so do later corollas (in km) so i would assume the celica is the same...
if the ration is right.. all good 
fwiw, there are three different ratios of drive gears for ke1x-ke7x
