The 3SGTE gearbox (and engine) will fit into a Celica because the Celica (ST...) is designed to have a 3S engine thus the ST... chassis identifier.
Corolla's are designed to take A series engines (7A, 4A etc.) so the 3S definately isn't going to be a straight bolt in.
If it will physically fit the corolla east west then you are going to have to do quite a bit of custom work.
You would probably have to use an MR2 gearbox as the Celica 3SGTE is from the Gtfour (Alltrac) and is a 4WD gearbox.
You would probably require at least as much custom work in a Civic... probably more.
