Perhaps the covers have been removed when the stock system was at 'soft' setting. You can turn the pin in the middle by about 60 degrees to firm them up.. although i wouldnt like to chance getting all four set at the correct setting.. i also cant remember whether its clockwise or anticlockwise to set the firm mode.
