well, that was my first guess... heh... I'd just hoped there was some standard way of marking springs to indicate rate etc (like on tyres) so i could check it out that way...

as far as the lowering effect of the springs...

grab a stock sprinter and measure the difference in ground clearance at a standard point?

grab stock sprinter springs and measure the difference between the height of the springs (wouldn't work unless they were equal spring rates would it?)
