Wed, 02 March 2005 08:18 I've tried the new vortex 98.. seems pretty good but then my car doesn't ping on any of the 98 RON fuels. Pinging sounds sort of like if you were to throw a small pebble into a tin can. Personally I don't think that there is much difference between Mobil 8000, BP Ultimate, Vortex 98, Shell Optimax etc. I have found the biggest differences in fuel quality are between individual service stations... i.e. some service stations obviously have contaminated tanks The best fuel seems to come from the really really new service stations. When I choose a service station its usually based on how new the station is and what sort of pumps they have... any service station which has pumps where the filler sticks into the side of the pump or which has an analogue gauge is a definite no go for me.
