Crank scraper Vs windage tray

Howdy all, I wanted to get peoples opinions on the differences and advantages/disadvantages of crank scrapers vs windage trays.
In the 3sgte I might be running a 2S sump that lacks the windage tray that the 3s sump has.
Been hunting around and found you can purchase windage trays and also crank scrapers that will fit the 3S.
So trying to decide which is the best to go for? They sound to me like they do quite similar jobs.
