These are what i use Mani, as well as Matt (in black supra), Pete (HKSPete), Nark, as well as a few others i cant recall at the moment. One thing to note is the LEGAL use of the handsfree VOX headset (extra $11), which has a function that transmits when you talk (has adjustable sensitivity and can be turned off) and makes it FULLY LEGAL to use, it would also allow you to hear it over your F**king loud exhaust mate!! The unit is also small, lightwieght and can recharge NiMH batteries with a bonus recharger ($10).
Im going to put together a package for you then Mani (and anyone else)
1x DC1010 (UHF handheld)

Quote from supplier (gaycar):
Quote: | 40 Channel UHF/CB Pocket Communicator
This lightweight handheld transceiver is suitable for all manner of professional and leisure activities such as hiking & leisure, use on building sites, IT-cablers & electricians, inter-car road trip communication, farming, etc. This is a quality UHF radio and, whilst just 0.5W output, it is NOT a toy. Open field transmission range is up to an incredible 5km, with typical city range up to one kilometre.
Because of the quality achieved with UHF transmissions, the transceiver is excellent for anyone who uses their mobile phone to communicate with a family member, workmate or friend, living or working nearby. The savings made over mobile phone calls would see these radios pay themselves off very quickly indeed! We tested them in the light industrial area surrounding our Silverwater headquarters in Sydney, and achieved a clear range of over 4 blocks.
