could also be a faulty sender, but id look at the thermostat first as well.

well i thought about that, but logically if the heater seems to be barely hot then u'd think that the coolant running through it isn't warm enough for it to work properly. so i'd say the guage is on the money, and that the thermostat either isn't there or has been stuck open.

The AW11 seems to have a funny coolant system, how do i get the air ou of the system? what are the steps to letting all the coolant out and refilling it?

its complicated but buy a haines manual and it will tell all. What i do when flushing the coolant is the run the engine untile hot then flush with the engine running leaving the heater on then once the water is clear turn off the hose start to put in coolant until the water comming out the radiator is red then turn the hose off and fill with coolant.

Id put my money on the thermostat its a common problem with all 4ag engines when run with green or no coolant at all.
