I don't have the same model car or motor so i can only give a general hand.
But anyways. How new are your shock and spring combo ? Cause once the shocks wear out its more work for the springs which in turn will lose their "spring-ability"(hehe) quicker.
But if their not old and worn out.
You could see about lifting the spring height a little. That is, if your running a 2 inch drop then use a spring that'll give a 1 inch drop.
If you know the size of the shockies your running you could always drop into, say, supercheap and have a look through the suspension catalogues they have hanging from the shelves for a car that's a little heavier (eg bigger displacement motor - around the 2 litre mark) and that uses the shockies of around the same diamentions as the shockies your using.
Or even do a "wrecker run" for a vehicle that uses a bigger displacement motor (around the 2 litre mark) that uses the same style of spring (how it sits in the top and lower spring mounts). And, god-for-bid, cut it down with a hacksaw half a coil at a time till you get the height your after.
