With those AMD chips u'd most likely wanna be spending almost 100 on a REAL cooling solution. AMD have never addressed their hot running cores.

That is THE BIGGEST load of shit I've ever heard. Go compare an AMD64 to a P4 Prescott No No No AMD's of yore used to be hot, but that is far from the truth now.

I"m running the 2nd generation prescott and its running at 45-46 degrees core temp. About 42 degrees northbridge temp. With case closed with one exhaust fan. Don't come saying its bullshit because u know AMD have had heat issues since baby jesus was born.

AMD 64's are running pretty cool. Considering its in a thermaltake case with aftermarket cooling. Pretty good considering its running 42 degrees. In a 200 dollar case and a 60 buck heatsink/fan. I'd agree with the original statements with the first presscots that ran 50- 60 degrees. But AMD have ALWAYS had heatissues. Until now i guess. Maybe i didn't reinforce the heat issue.

But i'd like to know what other people are getting on amd64's with standard cooling.

i ran a normal fan on a amd64 3200 and it went up to around 50ish as a standard Confused

got a thermaltake polo? with the manual speed to around 70% (4500ish rpm) went to around 39
