1rally - ive never directly compared the 2 rods side by side, and notice i did say "apparently". i did find it a surprise, but the person who told me that is VERY knowlegeable. have you compared the 2 yourself? of cousre there could be a material differance, and also the 4ag ones would better balanced..
i had a look at the 4ac rod in question. just by looking it does seem to be cutting it a bit close.
but.. fergo308... youre not taking 2mm out.. only 1mm of material off = a 2mm increse in bore. what i mean is youre only running 1mm in total closer to what you would assume would be the crital area, the part at the top very top of the rod where it is thinnest already.
